Our Story

It was a windy, rainy day, when my youngest daughter told me the carpet in our basement (newly finished) was wet. I went outside to investigate only to find one of the home’s downspout extensions laying in the middle of the yard. Once it was reconnected, the water stopped coming into the basement.

Recalling a similar situation my neighbor experienced, I now understood why he took careful measures to secure his downspouts in place (photo). I began noticing similar home remedies and realized that others had the same problem. My search for a simple, inexpensive solution at the big home centers and hardware stores was unsuccessful so I decided to create one ... the SPOUT ON Universal Downspout Anchor™. 

After sharing the idea with homeowners, professional gutter installers and potential distributors, their reactions encouraged me to begin producing this easy-to-install device. I've been told we could manufacture overseas for less money but I think most people are willing to pay a little more for a product made in Northwest Ohio.
